October 5, 1999 The meeting of the Planning Commission of Franklin Township, held in the Township office, was called to order at 2005 hours. Present were Ralph Breiding, Dwight Miller, Mike Pontore, Jim Hull and Jeff Yatzor. MINUTES Pontore moved to accept the minutes of 9/7/99 as presented. Miller seconded. Carried. VISITORS/PUBLIC COMMENT Jim Hull Variance Request - Mr. Hull stated that he would like a variance to put a 16 foot addition on the front of his home at 9443 Falls Road. His existing home is already closer to the road than the required 75 feet. With the addition the house would be 45 feet from the center of the road. Breiding - the requirement is for snow plowing and in case the Township ever widens the road. Pontore - 45 feet is very close to the road. Hull - if the variance is okayed, all right, if not I may change my mind and put on another roof line. Before I give you my check for the variance, I may reconsider and check things out again. Sit on the request for a couple of days and I'll call you. Jeff Yatzor Sketch Plan - Mr. Yatzor wants to purchase part of his mother's land at 5860 Koman Road. The parcel has 400 ft. of frontage and his sugar house is located on one corner of the land. He plans on purchasing 7 acres with 150 ft. of frontage that includes his sugar house and his mother would retain 3 acres with 250 ft. frontage. His parcel would be a flag lot that would open up behind his mother's parcel. Miller - how deep is the lot. Yatzor - 1,300 or 1,400 feet. Pontore moved to approve the Yatzor sketch plan as presented. Miller seconded. Carried. Yatzor - would I need a driveway on the other side of the little creek that runs along the 250 ft. edge of my mother's property? Breiding - yes, on your side of the property and as far away as possible from the creek. OLD BUSINESS None. NEW BUSINESS Adopt New Zoning Map - after review, Pontore moved to recommend the adoption of the new zoning map. Miller seconded. Carried. ADJOURN Pontore moved to adjourn, Breiding seconded. Meeting adjourned at 2023 hours. Bonnie J. Bernhardt, Secretary
