October 20, 1994 A special meeting of the Supervisors of Franklin Township for road inspection was called to order by Chairman Benjamin Sitek at 0902 hours. Present were Sitek, Herbert Netzler and David Henderson. REFORMULATED GAS/EMISSIONS INSPECTION Netzler - I think we should write to all our legislators asking them to ban regulations on reformulated gas and on emissions inspection. It will hurt the liquid fuel payments to all townships. Henderson - it should be all or nothing. Netzler and the secretary were authorized to write a letter to all our legislators opposing reformulated gasoline and emission inspections regulations. Supervisors left for road inspection at 0909 hours. Supervisors returned from road inspection at 1004 hours. FRONT FOOTAGE/SILVERTHORN Sitek - the residents have two questions, one is on whether the money is tax deductible and the second is whether they can still get a personal loan with the lien on their property. The question on tax deduction is in the Attorney's hands and yes, they can get a personal loan with the lien on the property. Sitek - they also want to know if the total frontage can be divided equally between the residents so everyone pays the same amount. Is it legal? Netzler - no, they can't, it's not legal. Sitek - the people voted on the basis that the money was tax deductible. If it's not we should have a revote. Netzler - a petition was handed in. I think it must be presented to the Board during an advertised meeting. I will check with our Attorney. I want to make sure it was handed in legally so we don't get stuck with that road. Henderson - it doesn't matter if we have a properly signed petition. On whose authority would we send it back out? Sitek - the reason was misinformation if the money is not tax deductible. I was handed the petition which was signed by all the residents, yes or no. The deadline was 10/24, it was turned in on 10/11/94. Henderson - tax deduction will depend on how the money is billed out. Netzler - bill it out as a contribution. Netzler left the meeting at 1009 hours. LETTERS/ROAD INSPECTION Sitek moved to send Virgil Egli and Joe Platz a letter asking them to remove abandoned fence posts on their properties that are in the Township road right-of-way. Henderson seconded. Carried. ADJOURN Sitek called the meeting adjourned at 1014 hours. Bonnie J. Bernhardt, Secretary
